All border crossings with Afghanistan closed from Sept 27-28

ISLAMABAD: All border crossings with Afghanistan have been closed for two days, i.e. September 27-28, to strengthen security as the fourth presidential election being held in Afghanistan on Saturday, said a statement issued by the Foreign Office.

Strict security measures in regard to check all pedestrians and trading vehicles had been ordered from Sept 26 to 29. The border crossing will only be allowed to emergency patients on September 27 and 28.

Because the security threat was always eminent, similar steps to curb any regretful event was taken in the past as well on the occasion of presidential and parliamentary elections.
