CM reviews development work in various areas of Karachi

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah visited various areas of Karachi on Sunday to review the uplift schemes and implementation of the COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the metropolis. 

As per reports, Chairman Planning and Development Board M Waseem, Finance Secretary Hassan Naqvi, Adviser on Law Murtaza Wahab and Karachi Package Project Director (PD) Khalid Masroor were also in attendance. 

According to details, the 5.5 kilometre long road from Gulbai to Y-junction in Keamari was not only constructed for Rs. 1 billion but it was also widened. For the first time, drainage pipes were also added to roads in the area. It was reported that over 65 percent of the development work had been carried out. 

The CM also visited the SITE area where 17 roads were to be reconstructed over 30 years at a cost of Rs 1.1 billion. 

In Banaras and Maymar, Shah observed that the SOPs were not strictly followed.
