Islamabad Expressway included in next phase of PSDP

Islamabad: In a briefing of the Chairman CDA Amir Ali Ahmed to Prime Minister Imran Khan, status of the ongoing projects was reviewed. These included shelter homes, high-rise buildings for slum relocation, anti-encroachment operations and improvement in service delivery.

Upon inquiry for the Islamabad Expressway Project, Chairman CDA said, civic body is working to initiate the project with innovative financing. Federal government has been requested to include the project in the next phase by Ministry of Planning, Development & Reform (PSDP). The highway has expansion plans for the next phase. It will be expanded from the Koral Interchange to Naval Anchorage with a 5km stretch in the first package and a 7km stretch in the second package. Existing four lanes will be expanded to eight. Three bridges will also be constructed besides service roads.
