RDA directives on tree plantation within housing societies under consultation

Rawalpindi: In regards to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s green Pakistan vision, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has decided to plant 1000 trees per 100 kanal within housing societies. Compliance to RDA directives have been made necessary in order to acquire clearance for housing societies.

The builders and developers however have expressed concerns over possibility of planting 1000 trees per 100 kanal as it would make the provision of facilities like power, gas and water pipelines difficult.

The RDA Chairman Arif Abbasi has given owners of the housing societies two weeks to come up with alternative recommendations until consensus is achieved.
